Pebble Project
The Pebble Project was created to encourage young professionals to become actively involved in community organizations. Administered by the Young Professionals Network (YPN) and fueled by a generous sponsorship from Kaizen Consulting Services (formerly Success Partners Group) and the American Red Cross, the Project will feature quarterly events to educate young professionals and encourage them to join community organizations.
Problem: Poor Rate of Volunteerism in Nevada
· According to the Corporation for National & Community Service, only 16.8% of Nevadans volunteered in 2006, as compared to 26.7% nationally. This ranks last and is down from 18.5% in 2005.
• 15.9% were aged 25-34 years old (24.7% nationally)
• 22.0% were aged 35-44 years old (33.3% nationally)
· According to the 2005 report, Nevada ranked sixth for the number of hours contributed (51 hour per year average).
Solution: Pebble Project to help create opportunities for young professionals to become actively involved.
