Laura Jackson recently completed her first season as Music Director of the Reno Philharmonic and enjoyed a remarkable year, making music with the orchestra's musicians and making new friends with the people of Reno, Sparks, Tahoe, and Carson City. Her goal is to bring the poetry and power of great music, both classical and popular, to Nevada audiences in order to feed the spirit of the individual, nurture the cultural identity of our communities, and expand the imaginations of our youth. She enjoys performing both traditional and contemporary repertoire and is especially excited this year to introduce the music of Reno-native Sean Shepherd to Nevada's audiences.

Laura comes to the Reno Philharmonic after two years of guest conducting ensembles across the globe, including the orchestras of Alabama, Atlanta, Baltimore, Berkeley, Boca Raton, Cape Cod, Detroit, Fairfax, Modesto, North and South Carolina, Phoenix, and San Antonio, among others.
